Myriad Pictures is taking the international sales of This Tempting Madness to the American Film Market (AFM), a highly anticipated event for the film industry. The thriller, directed by Jennifer E. Montgomery in her directorial debut, stars Simone Ashley (known for her role in Bridgerton) and Austin Stowell (from NCIS: Origins).
The film, inspired by a true story, is written by Andrew M. Davis and Montgomery. It follows Mia, who awakens from a coma after a near-fatal fall, with a shattered memory and a missing husband, Jake. As her past memories resurface, Mia's emotions become a blur of love, guilt, and fear, making it impossible for her to discern reality. Haunted by doubt and desire, her quest for truth leads her to question not only her past but also her own identity.
This Tempting Madness is a production of Smoke Jumper Films and Mango Monster, with Andrew M. Davis and Jennifer E. Montgomery as producers, and William Day, Frank. Jessica Malanaphy and Marcei A. Brown as producers for Catchlight Studios. Montgomery expressed her excitement, praising Ashley's mesmerizing performance, which she described as bold, vulnerable, and transformative, and Stowell's layered and compelling character. She also thanked the entire cast and crew for their dedication and artistry in bringing this story to life.
Kirk D'Amico, CEO of Myriad, highlighted the film's impressive craftsmanship, from cinematography and production design to the outstanding supporting cast, describing it as an elegant and riveting thriller led by the extraordinary Simone Ashley.
